On the 17th of September 2017, after seven years of contemplating and three years of hard work, a dream is finally coming true! FARR-out has set sails to travel the world.

 2017/2022: Atlantic Sailing

  • Canary Islands (Spain): May 2018 - Spring 2021

As off Spring 2018, FARR-out was moored in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria and for the remainder of 2018 and onwards on Tenerife, currently available for sailing trips around any of the Canary Islands.

The Canary Islands, known as the "fortunate isles" are an Atlantic archipelago belonging to Spain on the west coast of Africa, near Morocco, Cape Verde and the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.

Because of the north-east trade winds and the moderating influence of the sea, the Canaries have a mild tropical climate making it a year-round destination and perfect for sailing.

Cruising between the seven main islands offers the opportunity to discover the amazing diversity in the landscapes both on land and underwater, which ranges from pristine sand beaches and emerald green waters on Fuerteventura to lunar-like landscapes on Lanzarote and desert-like areas on Gran Canaria (https://www.hellocanaryislands.com).

  • Atlantic Ocean crossing: 2021? (east-west)

Every year, mid November, around 1500 yachts cross the Atlantic along the NE trade wind route. An Atlantic crossing is a "must do" for many sailors and an amazing adventure for anyone really.

The original plan was to sail FARR-out across the Atlantic Ocean westward from Las Palmas to the Caribbean in November/December 2017, but in sailing oftentimes things don't work out the way they were originally planned, which is also part of its' charm! In October 2017, FARR-out suffered storm damage and she was stationed in Vigo for repairs all Winter. In February of 2018, we sailed her to the Algarve and in the Spring thereafter to the Canary Islands. We are looking to spend a Summer or three in the Canary Islands and then cross the Atlantic in the Winter of 2021/2022. We will see how these plans will work out . . .
