September 2017: Ready to set sail!

August was all about preparing FARR-out; crossing out items on, it seems, a never ending number of lists.

Big items like replacing and upgrading the battery bank, installing the wind generator, replacing the rod rigging, applying a fresh layer of antifouling, and installing solar panels, and of course tons of smaller items like getting the safety vests and life raft checked, replacing fire extinguishers, filling and updating the board medicine chest and first aid kit, checking and replacing deck gear & electronics on board, and finally getting satellite communication up and running and completing the collection of navigation charts and pilots.

Experience and the stories of other world sailers have taught us that these lists will never end, that they will continue to have items on them and new ones will be created over and over again, such is life on board and quite frankly it doesn't bother us at all.

For now though, we are confident all important items are crossed off these lists: FARR-out is ready to set sail and make her way to the Canary Islands!
